30Job Description:Smile Education are delighted to be working alongside a vibrant primary school based in north Birmingham. We are currently seeking a Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join the team from September 2024.
We are currently seeking a Year 1 Teaching Assistant to join this vibrant primary school from September 2024 until the end of the academic year. The successful applicant will be supporting across the whole class, ensuring pupils are on task and engaged with learning materials. You will be supporting pupils working towards phonics screening checks and some elements of intervention work and 1:1 support may be required to help pupils fully understand curriculum intent.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a bustling primary school at the heart of it’s local community. The school is located in north Birmingham within proximity to Handsworth, Handsworth Wood, Birchfield and Birmingham City Centre. The expected salary range for this role is between £80-90 per day, depending on experience level.
What to expect from applicants?
We would like applicants to have a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification such as Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning. Applicants should be confident in delivering phonics intervention and working with pupils performing below ARE.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:
- Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, such as Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
- Be available to work on a full-time basis from Monday- Friday
- Confident in delivering phonics intervention to pupils and supporting pupils working towards phonics screening checks.
