*Job Overview*
We are seeking a skilled and motivated *X-Ray Radiographer* to support a high-volume *orthopaedic hip and knee insourcing service* in Derby. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services, supporting elective orthopaedic procedures, and ensuring timely and accurate imaging for patients undergoing hip and knee assessments and surgeries.
*Responsibilities*
* Perform high-quality X-ray examinations, with a focus on *orthopaedic hip and knee imaging*, including pre-operative and post-operative assessments.
* Operate imaging equipment in accordance with *IR(ME)R 2017* and *IRR 2017* regulations.
* Ensure accurate patient positioning and optimal image quality while minimising radiation exposure.
* Work collaboratively with orthopaedic consultants, radiologists, and theatre teams to support efficient patient pathways.
* Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with *data protection and confidentiality policies*.
* Participate in quality assurance, audit activities, and continuous service improvement.
* Provide support and supervision to junior staff or students if required.
* Ensure equipment is maintained and faults are reported promptly.
*Experience*
* BSc (Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
* *HCPC registration* as a Diagnostic Radiographer.
* Proven experience in general radiography, with a strong emphasis on *musculoskeletal and orthopaedic imaging*.
* Knowledge of current NHS imaging protocols and standards.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
*Desirable:*
* Previous experience in an *insourcing or high-throughput orthopaedic setting*.
* Familiarity with PACS/RIS systems and digital radiography platforms.
* Evidence of CPD and commitment to ongoing professional development
