Kier Transportation is seeking Winter Maintenance Drivers for its Bridgwater team to cover unsociable hours, including weekends, on a rota basis. The role involves driving gritting vehicles to ensure UK roads remain safe during winter months. Successful candidates must hold a current LGV class 2 licence and CPC accreditation. The position offers a fixed-term zero-hour contract until April 2026, with a pay rate of £17.35 per hour on weekdays and £22.63 on Sundays and Bank Holidays, plus a weekly standby payment. Location : Bridgwater, Somerset Contract : Fixed term zero hour contract to April 2026

– Call out & weather dependant Salary : £17.35 per hour Monday to Saturday and £22.63 per hour on Sunday and Bank Holidays PLUS weekly standby of £229.80 What will you be responsible for? As a Winter Maintenance Driver , you’ll be working within the Maintenance team, supporting them in key essential works, driving gritting vehicles to spread salt onto the roads during colder days and nights, keeping the UK’s roads moving.

Your day to day will include: Driving a gritter vehicle, covering unsociable hours Fitting a snow plough during adverse weather conditions Maintaining relevant driver and vehicle records What are we looking for?
