We are continuing to build an Everlasting Shawston and need likeminded individuals to join our team. We are now looking for a committed individual to join our High Wycombe Transport Team in the role of Transport Planner. Our High Wycombe branch is dynamic, fun and the largest of the Shawston groups sites.

About The Role

  • Planning, directing, and controlling the day-to-day activities of a fleet of 11 vehicles/drivers, ranging from 3.5T vehicles up to 18T.
  • Ensuring planned routes are in line with working time directive (WTD) and drivers’ hours
  • Producing optimal transport plans utilising route planning software, ensuring all timed deliveries are achieved and customer expectations met
  • Close collaboration with both Sales and Operational stakeholders ensuring a joined-up approach is maintained, where everyone is committed to delivering unrivalled customer service
  • Accurate use of vehicle tracking system, monitoring deliveries, failures and rejections
  • Assisting the Transport Manager to ensure the department runs efficiently and effectively
  • Ensuring the department provides a quality first class service to the customer though careful planning
  • Maintaining excellent working relationships with drivers, keeping a consistent and accurate flow of communication
  • Liaising with all relevant third-party service providers as required
  • Completing all other Transport related tasks as required by the Transport Manager

About you

To be considered for this role, we ask that you hold all of the below skills and experience:

  • Geographical knowledge of London
  • Experience using Transport Planning software
  • The ability to adapt in a changing environment whilst remaining calm and approachable
  • A proactive and methodical mindset
  • Be a great problem solver
  • Knowledge of Transport legislation
  • Strong IT literacy – Excel and Word are essential
  • Great attention to detail and strong organisational capabilities
  • Be punctual, flexible, and positive
  • Be able to work to deadlines and meet targets
  • Possess outstanding communication skills
  • Be driven and self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative

This role is based on site, 8 am to 5 pm, 40 hours per week.
