Job Description
As a Transport Manager you will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the transport
department. This role requires an individual with significant experience in transport management
and a CPC. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with all transport regulations, optimise
fleet performance, and lead a team to deliver exceptional service standards.

Key responsibilities:
Operational Management
– Oversee the daily operations of the transport department, ensuring efficient and effective
service delivery
– Develop and implement operational policies to enhance efficiency and safety.
– Coordinate and manage the scheduling and dispatch of the fleet along with the transport
team.

Regulatory Compliance
– Ensure compliance with all relevant transport regulations, including health and safety,
environmental policies, and legal requirements.
– Maintain up to date knowledge of transport legislation and ensure the companies operations
adhere to all legal standards.

Fleet Management
– Monitor and optimise the performance of the fleet, ensuring vehicles are well maintained
and service schedules are adhered to.
– Implement cost- effective strategies for fleet utilisation and fuel management.

Team Leadership
– Lead, motivate, and manage a team of drivers and office staff.
– Conduct performance reviews, provide training, and support the professional development
of the department.
– Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.

Customer Service
– Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained, addressing any issues or
complaints promptly and effectively.
– Work closely with customers to build and maintain business relationships.

Financial Management
– Manage the transport budget, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency
– Monito and report on key performance indicators in weekly operations meetings.

Qualifications and Experience
– Proven experience in transport management
– Holder of a CPC in road haulage
– Strong knowledge of transport regulations and compliance requirements
– Excellent organisational and leadership skills
– Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
