32Job Description:Trainee Service Engineer / Junior Field Service Technician / Trainee Pump Service Engineer required to join a prominent engineering supplier specializing in water pump systems. This role offers the exciting opportunity to be part of the growing team at a depot in Burnley, with excellent prospects for career advancement.
The Successful Trainee Service Engineer / Junior Field Service Technician / Trainee Pump Service Engineer will provide electrical and mechanical repair, service, and maintenance across a variety of pump systems working with waste and clean water. From pumps to valves, pipework & tankers, you’ll play a crucial role in optimizing performance for major customers across various industries. This is a field-based position taking you to customer sites throughout the UK, with travel to Burnley for training and parts collection.
The Trainee Service Engineer / Junior Field Service Technician / Trainee Pumps Service Engineer will ideally have hands-on experience in mechanical domains. Preference will be given to candidates with familiarity in mechanical engineering fault finding and systems troubleshooting, coupled with a strong enthusiasm for continuous learning and adapting to novel challenges.

Trainee Service Engineer / Junior Field Service Technician / Trainee Pumps Service Engineer Role
To provide electrical and mechanical repair, service and maintenance of pumps equipment at customer sites.
The Pump Service Engineer will undertake planned and preventative maintenance, provide advice, diagnostics, fault finding of pump systems, valve products, tankers, pipework and various other water solutions.
Installing & serving in water and wastewater manufacturing industry, looking after key accounts around the UK.
Perform emergency breakdown fault finding and repairs on various compressed air equipment.
Liaise with various engineering departments.
Working at customer sites throughout the UK, with regular travel to Burnley for training and parts collection.
Trainee Service Engineer / Junior Field Service Technician / Trainee Pumps Service Engineer Requirements
Proven diagnostic skills on complicated electrical / mechanical engineering systems.
Experience as a Trainee Service Engineer, Apprentice Engineer, Apprentice Technician, Entry level Engineer, Electrical Engineer, Pump Engineer, Mechanical Engineer or similar.
Hands-on experience in mechanical engineering. Preference will be given to candidates with familiarity in mechanical fault finding and systems troubleshooting, coupled with a strong enthusiasm for continuous learning and adapting to novel challenges.
Engineering qualifications such as an NVQ or HNC in mechanical engineering or in a similar filed would be advantageous.
Strong understanding of engineering solutions and ambition to learn about a booming water sector.
Background in the water industry or related mechanical fields (e.g., filtration, pneumatics, hydraulics) would be advantageous.
Flexibility to travel regular travel to Burnley for training and parts collection.Location: North West, Burnley
