104Job Description:We have a great opportunity at Oxford Sewage Treatment Works for a Thermal Hydrolysis Process Technician.
As the THP technician, you will be responsible for monitoring, inspecting and maintaining equipment, and reporting any defective items to ensure a swift repair or attempting a first-time fix yourself where possible. You will work closely with other site teams to ensure the smooth running and production of a good quality biosolids product which is used to generate green energy and is then recycled back to land.
What you’ll be doing as The Thermal Hydrolysis Process Technician.
- Operation of sludge digesters, boilers, high-pressure/temperature reactors, power generation plant and equipment.
- Sampling, testing basic maintenance and fault-finding of the plant and equipment.
- Gathering performance data to ensure the plant operates efficiently and that statutory and regulatory compliance is met.
- Undertaking safety and security checks and housekeeping.
- Close communication and liaison with the wider site team.
Base Location: Oxford STW- OX4 4XU.
Working Pattern or hours: 38 Hours Plus the inclusion of a standby rota for which you will receive additional payment.
What you should bring to the role
- Keen to learn new skills (including becoming an accredited boiler operator).
- Able to problem solve. as well as happy to work outside.
- Able to complete basic tasks on a computer e.g., be able to input site performance data and view their day’s work via a hand-held device.
- Be a team player.
- Possess a strong focus on Health and safety at all times.
- If you can already demonstrate knowledge and/or experience of working with boilers and energy generation plants, or other process equipment, such as pumps and gearboxes, that would be beneficial but full training will be provided.
- Willing to participate in standby rota once you are suitably trained.
- In possession of a Full UK driving licence.
