Telecoms Race Support Technician (033jc) – Loughborough with Worldwide Travel – Excellent Package

 

This client are specialists in the provision of high-quality, customised radio and intercom communication solutions for motorsport and event industries. They have over 40 years’ experience working in numerous international race series across the globe, including Formula One, WEC, Le Mans, Formula E, Extreme E and Moto GP.

 

DUE TO THE NATURE OF THIS RECRUITMENT CONSULTANCY, WE ARE ONLY ABLE TO REPRESENT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE EX MILITARY.

 

They are seeking additional Technicians to join their expanding team due to increased work and your role will be to provide communications support for company events. The role holder will be responsible for the installation, test, and maintenance of the communications systems at track and whilst in the office including Intercom and radio systems. The role will also include the set up and testing of radio and intercom systems in the office prior to deployment.

 

Therefore, your principal accountabilities will include:

  • Installation and maintenance of Radio and intercom equipment in the garage and on the pit wall
  • Programming of communications equipment with the authorised frequencies for use at events.
  • Build, test, and maintenance of associated equipment including the drivers crash helmet communication systems, including driver earpieces.
  • Fault finding on radio and intercom communication systems.
  • Maintenance and repair teams’ communications equipment such as moulded earpieces
  • De-rig of all communications equipment post event.

 

To be eligible for this role you will need the following knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Experience of working in a highly technical environment
  • Experience in RF communications systems
  • Experience in network communications systems and VOIP
  • Competent Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to work using own initiative.
  • Experience and Knowledge of trackside operations would be advantageous but not essential.
  • Experience in Clearcom and Kenwood systems desirable (training can be given)

The ideal candidate would be someone who has a strong radio comms background who is able to travel between 25 to 30% of the time and once fully trained and experienced you could be travelling up to 50% across the whole of the world where Motor racing events are being held.

 

In return they are offering a good starting salary, and when away from the HQ, you will receive additional payments that could increase your salary by 25% + as well as private health care, company pension, 28 days holiday.
