Team leader – Supported living service
Bristol
£17.00ph – full time hours
CJP Outreach Services are currently recruiting for an experienced team leader to join our amazing team at our supported living service in Bristol. Our team leaders are responsible for providing leadership to support staff within service. This includes supervising care delivery, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and maintaining current best practices – working closely with the service manager to maintain service standards and enhance the wellbeing of the people we support.
This role involves working closely with the people we support, families, external agencies, and colleagues. Team leaders are expected to uphold the values of the service, promote independence, and strive for quality in care delivery , being proactive in addressing concerns, open to feedback, and committed to continuous improvement. Implementing Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) strategies and interventions to promote positive outcomes and reduce behaviours that challenge.
For this position it is essential that you have a background in supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, and behaviours that challenge. Ideally your experience will be in community base settings, such as supported living and/or residential care. Knowledge of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) would be an advantage.
Key Duties:
- Ensure service users’ preferences are central to care delivery, promoting their wellbeing.
- Organise and coordinate care delivery according to policies, standards, and regulations.
- Supervise staff to ensure efficient service operation and contribute to service improvements.
- Audit medication procedures, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
- Promote and protect the welfare of service users, maintaining effective working relationships within the team.
- Complete assessments, care plans, and related documentation in compliance with standards.
- Participate in personal and professional growth opportunities, including training and supervision of staff.
- Contribute to out-of-hours support and attend required training sessions.
Qualifications and skills:
- Previous experience in a similar environment, ideally in a supervisory role.
- Experience working with service users with additional support needs is desirable.
- Knowledge of rota planning and staff management.
- Understanding of person-centred care and human rights.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to various situations.
- Empathy, kindness, and a commitment to providing a caring service.
- Willingness to learn, share ideas, and improve outcomes for service users.
