A small SEN school in the NG24 area of Nottingham is seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant. The role involves working closely with students who have Autism and other related conditions, supporting their development and education. The successful candidate will work alongside the classroom teacher and other support staff to provide personalized assistance to students with special educational needs. Previous experience supporting students with SEN is required, as well as a proactive mindset and a driving license. Location: NG24 area, Nottingham
Start Date: ASAP
Type: Full-Time
Pay: £80 – £100 per day, dependant on experience

About the Role: As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll be playing a key role in shaping the development and education of the students, all of whom who have a diagnosis of Autism and related conditions. Your role will involve working closely with the classroom teacher and other support staff to provide personalised assistance to students with special educational needs. You will be joining a close-knit and supportive team who are all dedicated to helping their students to flourish. They are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is motivated, patient, and proactive and who can use their passion to help the school improve the standard of education they can offer their students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the teacher within the classroom
  • Working alongside the classroom teacher, SENDCo, and outside agencies to ensure that the needs of all the students are met.
  • Contribute to the preparation of learning resources.
  • Supporting the overall wellbeing of students
  • Helping to create an inclusive, warm, and supportive learning environment.

Applicant Requirements – What are we looking for?

  • Previous experience supporting students with SEN, either in a mainstream or SEN setting
  • Level 2 (or working towards) in child development/education/related field.
  • Proactive mindset, ready to take initiative and actively participate.
  • Due to the location of the school, a driving licence and access to a care is essential.
