A 17-year-old client, who enjoys connecting with nature, crabbing at the beach, and playing family board games, is seeking a Support Worker. Living with his parents and older sibling, he has two beloved cats and requires assistance due to dyskinetic cerebral palsy and a learning disability. The role involves supporting him with daily living tasks, using a wheelchair, and communicating through gestures and technology. Candidates should have a year of experience with individuals with additional needs, be patient and empathetic, and enjoy community outings. The position offers £16-£17 per hour, with flexible shifts and benefits.
Connecting with nature on walks, crabbing at the beach and fun times playing family board games are amongst the hobbies of our lovely 17-year-old client, who is looking for a Support Worker.
Living with his parents and older sibling you will also be an animal lover as the family have two much loved cats.

The Role: Our client has dyskinetic cerebral palsy and a learning disability.
He uses a wheelchair full-time; he requires support with all areas of daily living including personal care, hoisting, administration of medication and PEG feeding.
He attends college 5 days a week.
Although non-verbal our client has a good understanding of what people say to him.
He uses hand gestures, a communication book and Eye Gaze to communicate and is confident and capable of making his own decisions.
Full training in all aspects of our client’s care will be given and you will be supported by his Case Manager.
Company uniform will also be provided.
About You: You will enjoy taking trips out into the community with our client.
You will support our client by following his care plan and helping to implement his therapy programme.
You will be flexible, reliable, patient and have a positive and empathetic attitude to working with a young person with additional needs and supporting him whilst helping to develop his skills.
Experience working with children with additional needs or caring for adults for a minimum of one year is a requirement of this role.
Preferably you will be a driver (over 25 for insurance purposes) as you may drive our client’s adapted automatic vehicle but please do apply even if you are not a driver and feel you would be an asset to our client’s team.
Pay/Benefits: £16 per hour weekdays, £17 per hour weekends.
5 weeks annual leave.
Hours / Shifts (15 hours a week): 3x weekday evenings (this is an example and there is some flexibility on days):
– Wed hrs)
– Tues &Thurs x4hrs) Every other Saturday- 2.5 hrs Additional hours may be available to cover annual leave/sickness of other members of the team.
