Band 6 Speech and Language Therapist – SEMH School, Vauxhall Location: Vauxhall, London Contract: Full-time / Term-time Salary: NHS Band 6 equivalent About the Role Are you a passionate Speech and Language Therapist looking to make a real difference? We’re working in partnership with a specialist SEMH school in Vauxhall to support young people with complex communication needs.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a therapeutic, nurturing school environment, where you will help pupils develop the communication skills they need to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
You will work closely with a supportive multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based therapy tailored to each child’s needs.
What You’ll Be Doing Assess and identify pupils’ speech, language, and communication needs.
Plan and deliver individual and group therapy sessions.
Coach and advise school staff on embedding communication strategies across the school day.
Collaborate with teachers, pastoral leads, psychologists, and occupational therapists to provide holistic support.
Support the creation and review of EHCPs through assessment and reporting.
Monitor and evaluate pupils’ progress, adapting therapy plans as needed.
What We’re Looking For HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
Experience supporting children and young people with SEMH or neurodevelopmental needs (e.g., ASC, ADHD).
Confident in applying trauma-informed and therapeutic approaches.
Strong communicator and team player, able to work independently within a school setting.
Reflective, motivated, and committed to making a positive impact.
