A small team in Blackpool is seeking an experienced Team Leader to provide high-quality care to a young woman with Dissociative Identity Disorder and an eating disorder. The role involves supporting the young woman in her transition to living independently, accompanying her on daily walks and engaging in physical activities. The Team Leader will also be responsible for supervising staff, developing care plans, and coordinating care delivery. The ideal candidate should have experience working with individuals with complex trauma, dissociation, self-harm, sensory difficulties, and attachment issues. A car driver is essential for this role.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Team Leader to join a small team who have a desire to provide high quality, compassionate and empathetic care to a young woman who is moving to her own home following a lengthy stay as an inpatient in a hospital environment. We provide 2 to 1 support, ahead of supporting the transition for this young lady into the community.
J lives with Dissociative Identity Disorder (Formerly known as Multiple Personality Disorder) and is in recovery from an Eating Disorder.
It would be advantageous to have experience of working with and/or supporting people with complex trauma, dissociation, self-harm, eating disorders, sensory difficulties, and attachment issues.

A car driver is an essential requirement for the role as J hopes that once she is settled in her new home, she will be able to access places by transport and by foot. It’s important to J to get her daily steps which adds up to 7 miles per day, so it’s important that you enjoy walking / fitness too.
J hopes to eventually adopt a rescue dog and has a love of animals large and small. J enjoys listening to music and watching documentaries.
J will need support from staff who are able to be active and happy to support her on daily long walks and other sporting activities.
J has a love for nature, follows a vegan lifestyle and wishes to pursue an eco-friendly way of life so an interest in this would be desirable but not essential.
J is keen to learn about new opportunities and needs people that can guide and explore these with her and also suggest new activities/places to visit and who can be adaptable, responsive and calm when under pressure. J is very anxious about new situations and what to expect, her past experiences mean that she/other personalities don’t always respond in a way that others would expect.
J will also need support with developing new routines, managing medication, sorting finances, paying bills and attending appointments.
 
Role and responsibilities

To supervise staff and ensure that all staff contribute to the efficient running of J’s support.
To develop and distribute the duty rota monthly in advance, ensuring the correct number of staff and skill mix as needed.
Supervision of staff within the team including but not limited to formal and informal supervision meetings, spot checks, mentoring and training.
Completion of assessments, care plans, risk assessments and other related care and support documentation according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements, and relevant regulations. (Meetings to be held in person unless agreed by manager.
Participation in the out of hours (on-call) Rota.
To organise and coordinate care delivery in accordance with current best practices, according to policy and procedures, agreed standards, legislative requirements and relevant regulations under the direction of the Manager and within the financial plans (If required)

 

Ensure that the care service is delivered to J at the times and for the duration specified in the relevant individual agreement(s) and contract standards.
Be responsible for promoting and protecting the welfare of those individuals supported by the service.
Ensuring all staff members have completed training required both online and practical.
Develop effective working relationships with other employees within the service.
Communication with recruitment on staffing levels and supporting to recruit.
