Key responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Leadership
* To inspire and motivate the spa team to deliver exceptional service.
* Managing performance of the spa team
* Foster a positive and collaborative work environment and set clear goals and expectations for the team.
* The Spa Director will lead on the recruitment for the spa department, provide regular training sessions, and oversee the development of the spa team.
* They will focus on building a pipeline of talent to future proof the business and create a succession plan for each individual.
* It is the Spa Directors responsibility to oversee the ongoing education and professional development for the spa team and conduct performance reviews providing constructive feedback.
Operational
* To oversee the daily operations of the spa, ensuring smooth functionality and maintenance upkeep.
* To produce effective scheduling and flexible rota management to meet the demands of the business.
* The ability to successfully manage inventories and build good relationships with our product houses and suppliers.
* To implement and maintain exceptional operating standards and procedures to uphold the high standards and comply with all health and safety requirements.
Guest Experience
* To be actively engaging with our spa members and spa guests to build a relationship and listen to feedback.
* To have a clear understanding in delivering luxury standards of service ensuring that the spa is positioned go and above and beyond to exceed our guest expectation and satisfaction.
* Leading the spa team to maintain a tranquil and inviting environment.
* Being attentive and knowledgeable to address any guest feedback and resolve any issues promptly.
Financial
* To produce and manage the spa budget ensuring profitability.
* To monitor the financial performance and effectively review the monthly profit and loss account and implement any necessary cost-control measures.
* To prepare financial reports and present them to the Executive team.
* To oversee that the departmental procurement processes are managed effectively.
Marketing & Communication
* Develop marketing strategies in line with the hotel vision to attract and maintain target market guests.
* Create an annual marketing plan outlining the key promotional content.
* Work with our brand partners to continually research and create new treatment experiences.
* Ensure that we incorporate local and national events and create innovative ideas in line with the spa and wellness industry trends.

Health & Safety
* To ensure the spa department is compliant with all health and safety regulations and keep all necessary documents and training requirements up to date.
* To maintain a clean and safe environment for both staff and our guests.
* To stay updated on industry standards and best practice.
Flexibility
* Along with your main duties you may be asked to complete other tasks as and when necessary and reasonably required.
* You may on occasions be required to adjust your hours of work to cover the hotel needs
QUAIFICATIONS & DESIRABLES
Essential skills and Experiences
? Leadership: Previous senior leadership experience of managing a luxury spa within a 5* hotel environment The ability to lead and inspire a team to drive guest engagement.
? Operational Management: Previous experience and a proven track record of managing complex spa operations. Expert knowledge of front of house and back of house protocols and processes. Previous experience of swimming pool and thermal facility management.
? Financial Acumen: Previous experience and skills in budgeting; profit and loss account; payroll management and driving revenue opportunities. Ability to set departmental and KPI’s to drive growth and profitability. Previous experience of managing and growing spa memberships.
? People Management: Ability to recruit, train and develop teams while addressing performance and maintaining high standards
? Health and Safety: Experience and knowledge of risk assessments, standards operational procedures, NOP’s and PSOP knowledge, compliance with licensing and government legislation
? IT Systems: Proficiency is spa systems, excel and hotel crm systems to ensure seamless operations
? Strong verbal communication skills: English is the primary language used in our hotel.
Preferred Skills
* Sales and Marketing: Experience in competitor analysis, brand partnerships, and implementing growth strategies
* Luxury Brand Alignment: Understanding of luxury standards and values, ensuring alignment with high-end branding.
