Position Overview
Reporting to the Head Chef, the Sous Chef is responsible for assisting in the overall management and operation of the kitchen, ensuring that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards. This role involves supervising kitchen staff across all sections, coordinating food preparation, and maintaining quality control, cleanliness, and organization throughout the kitchen. Key responsibilities include supporting the Head Chef in menu planning, inventory management, staff training, and enforcing strict hygiene and safety standards. The Sous Chef plays a vital role in leading the kitchen team and contributing to the exceptional dining experience offered at our luxury boutique hotel.
What we looking for
- Proven experience working in a commercial kitchen environment within the hospitality industry, with a thorough understanding of kitchen operations and culinary techniques.
- Strong culinary expertise, with extensive experience in preparing and executing authentic, high-quality Italian cuisine.
- Ability to efficiently manage and organize a specific kitchen section, ensuring smooth and effective operations.
- Comprehensive knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards, consistently ensuring full compliance.
- Demonstrated leadership skills, capable of guiding and mentoring junior kitchen staff to foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to excel in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen setting.
