98Job Description:The Integrated Children’s Disability Service, EHC Assessment Team are responsible for Facilitating the statutory Education, Health & Care Plan (EHCP) Assessment process and for maintaining and reviewing all EHCP’s on behalf of the Local Authority, at present we are maintaining approximately 4450 EHCP’s and are receiving an average of 35 plus new EHC Assessment requests per week.
Due to the increase in EHCP’s, there has been an increase in the number of children and young people who require therapies as part of their specialist educational provision, and also in the number that are not attending an education setting. We have a number of children and young people that are Educated Otherwise Than at School (EOTAS), who receive their education via Alternative Providers (AP), either within their own home or community hubs on an interim basis. Service Organisers will be based within the Pre 16 team and will support us in ensuring that our most vulnerable children and young people are in receipt of their therapies and educational provision
These posts will support our work around:
Actioning tender processes for AP, securing provision following tender deadlines and/or sourcing provision directly with providers as and when required
Ensuring that all of our children are accessing 25 hours of education provision where appropriate and that the AP’s linked to each child deliver a package that covers all of the provision outlined within section F of their EHCP
Sourcing, commissioning and Tracking therapies, ensuring these are being delivered in line with their EHCP’s
Ensuring our most vulnerable children, young peoples EHC Plans are reviewed in a timely way
We are looking for someone who can:
To complete tender and commissioning steps linked to Therapy & AP provision
Act as the contact point for and to build links with key professionals in respect of sourcing and confirming Therapies and AP packages
Respond to enquiries from families & young people as required in relation to the above
To hold responsibility for the progress chasing of reports, updates and information in relation to the above
Arrange EHC review meetings on behalf of the named EHC Coordinator
Complete paperwork and MOSAIC steps as required
Monitor the delivery of therapy provision
We are looking for highly motivated resilient workers with the ability to work under pressure. You will need to demonstrate your enthusiasm to improve services for disabled children and young people, and be able to organise and manage your work within set statutory timescales. You will be highly skilled in communicating and negotiation.
