Our client is an award winning building design consultancy currently experiencing a period of growth. With exciting new projects on the horizon, they are looking for a Senior Structural Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. With sites across the North, this role can be based in either Northallerton or the Leeds area on a hybrid basis.

 

The Senior Structural Engineer will join a dynamic team providing comprehensive multi-disciplinary services. You will be a key player in a busy, professional team known for exceeding targets and continually improving services. Your role will focus on efficient project delivery, working collaboratively across disciplines to ensure cost and time efficiency.

The Senior Structural Engineer Role

As Senior Structural Engineer,you will interact with clients and contractors, attending design team meetings and resolving site-based issues in a timely manner.

 

Other responsibilities of the Senior Structural Engineer will include:

 

  • Communicate and collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team to develop a structural design that meets client and key stakeholder requirements.
  • Produce practicable, cost-effective and sufficient structural and foundation designs appropriate to RIBA staged delivery
  • Construction stage support, i.e., responding to RFI’s and TQ’s, review of fabricator’s designs & detailed drawings and site visits to resolve any emerging structural issues.

 

About You – The Senior Structural Engineer

The Senior Structural Engineer will be able to demonstrate significant structural engineering experience and knowledge of UK Standards. You will be able to deliver all structural requirements of projects from start to finish, producing designs from feasibility to completion and work within project timescales and finances. 

Other requirements include:

  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Structural Design of Concrete, Steel, Masonry and Timber Structures, using current UK Standards and Eurocodes.
  • Capable user of Structural Analysis and Modelling Packages
  • Full UK driving license.
  • Experienced in RIBA staged project delivery and maintaining budget.
  • Mentor and develop junior and less experienced members of the structures team.
