Senior Staff Nurse (Neurobehavioral) – York

Location: York
Salary: Up to £50,395
Hours: Full-time, Permanent (38.5 hours per week)

Our client is dedicated to helping individuals rebuild their lives after neurotrauma. We are searching for a talented Senior Staff Nurse to join their compassionate and skilled team in a state-of-the-art facility.

About the Role:

As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will play a crucial role within a multidisciplinary team, working closely with the Ward Manager to lead and inspire your nursing team. You will be pivotal in delivering integrated, high-quality care and ensuring the best outcomes for patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide daily clinical leadership, ensuring exceptional care standards and acting as a positive role model.
  • Manage patient assessments, admissions, and discharge planning in collaboration with the care team.
  • Establish effective communication and continuity of care across interdisciplinary teams.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and reflective practice within the ward.
  • Implement risk management strategies to ensure patient and staff safety.
  • Oversee staff recruitment and retention, nurturing a supportive team environment.

Requirements:

  • Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in managing and developing teams.
  • Clinical Expertise: Deep understanding of Clinical Governance and the Mental Health Capacity Act.
  • Training: Ability and willingness to provide training to student nurses and the wider team.

Qualifications:

  • NMC Registered Nurse: Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years working in a Neurobehavioral setting.
  • Education: Completion of NMC Standards for Student Supervision and/or Assessment (or willingness to complete this training).
  • Professional Development: Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional growth.
