What you’ll be doing:
Developing functional engineering solutions that meet a complex array of cross-functional interactions and requirements
Engaging with suppliers to develop and capture equipment and component specifications that meet the demands of the product
Working directly with the customer to develop requirements and acceptance criteria based on operational scenarios, use cases and other design considerations
Performing and reviewing engineering calculations and analysis to make design decisions and demonstrate system performance
Developing the package of design evidence required to justify a safe, effective design and generate customer confidence in the design solution
Co-ordinating, managing and leveraging a wide stakeholder base to solve complex engineering problems and make responsible engineering decisions
Your skills and experiences:
Demonstrable experience of the engineering lifecycle
Demonstrable understanding of the development of mechanical systems or engineering products from functional requirements
Knowledge or experience specifying/selecting mechanical equipment and components to meet requirements (heat exchangers, pumps, diesel generators, hydraulic plant, compressors, etc)
An ability to communicate technical information effectively

The Mechanical Systems Engineering team:
As a part of the team, you will be developing the next generation of nuclear submarine. This is the programme that will deliver the submarines for the recently announced, tri-lateral AUKUS agreement between the UK, US and Australian governments.
You will contribute to national endeavour delivering a major milestone, joining an ever-expanding team with some great development opportunities for career progression, training as well as support with achieving chartership.
