48Job Description:We are currently recruiting for a *Senior Environment Manager Net Carbon* to work on a hybrid basis, two/three days from our HQ in Coventry and the remainder working remotely from home.
On a *fixed term contract until August 2025*, this role leads the development and implementation of evidence-based strategies and advice to levy payers aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing carbon sequestration in strategic projects. We are therefore looking for a confident and knowledgeable Manager with proven experience of working with agri-environmental issues of a technical, research and policy nature, who is also used to translating complex material to a levy payer audience.

*Responsibilities *
* Act as the environment lead on levy payer engagement, contributing to the development of a delivery plan
* Lead and collaborate with internal teams to develop and deliver a strategy for disseminating the key messages from the Environment Strategic Projects, including the Environment Baselining Pilot and the MACCs, to levy payers and industry
* Assess existing evidence around GHG mitigation factors and develop marginal abatement cost curves (MACCs) relevant to AHDBs sectors
* Ensure key links both internally and externally to identify and assess new industry developments around reducing GHG emissions and/or increasing carbon sequestration
* Act as the point of contact for knowledge transfer on environment projects for the sector teams
* Support levy payers in navigating through the economic and environmental landscape. Translating theory into practical steps levy payers can use in their businesses
* Develop a suite of GHG mitigation (and sequestration) practices from existing tools that can help levy payers make informed decisions regarding the implementation of new on-farm practices
* Deliver insight from the MACCs both verbally via presentations/webinars, and in writing through online articles and agricultural press helping to get the key messages across to levy payers and industry
* Act as a reference point and nationally recognised specialist within the field ensuring any new evidence that comes to light and advances in this area progresses
*Essential Criteria*
* Knowledge of the agriculture sector and a professional qualification to at least degree standard in Environment, Biology, Agriculture or a related discipline, or equivalent experience
* Experience of leading on and translating/disseminating complex material to a levy payer audience, along with evidence of working with technical, research and policy issues relating to agri-environmental issues
* Confident to proactively engage stakeholders in person or via other communication channels
* Excellent planning and organisation skills with a structured approach and able to easily set and work to priorities
* High level of attention to detail and able to lead others along with evidence of working effectively and collaboratively within a team
* Personal resilience and ability to adapt and flex approaches to engaging, collaborating with and influencing different internal and external stakeholders
