Data Science, Gen AI, Machine Learning, London/Remote, £800-£850/day (Inside IR35)
My client, a global leader in their field, is searching for a Senior candidate with extensive experience working in Data Science, Machine Leaning and Gen AI to join them ASAP for an initial 6 month contract. This will be inside IR35 and it’ll be a hybrid role with twice a week in central London needed.
This role plays a critical role in advancing the application of machine learning as a foundational tool for addressing real-world business challenges. By leveraging your expertise in advanced AI techniques alongside traditional methodologies, you’ll contribute to solving complex business problems across various domains, including Demand Forecasting, Customer Profiling, Operational Optimisation, Recommendation Systems, Propensity Modeling, Conversational AI, and Risk Analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction in data science, leveraging Gen AI methodologies to drive innovation and achieve business objectives. Collaborate with stakeholders to align data science initiatives with organisational goals.

Lead and mentor Data Engineers and Data Scientists, fostering a culture of excellence and ontinuous improvement. Ensure proficiency in applying Gen AI techniques to solve complex business problems.
- Oversee project execution, utilising tools like Confluence and JIRA to facilitate collaboration, documentation, and task management. Ensure timely project delivery within scope and meeting stakeholders’ expectations.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders to understand business KPIs and requirements. Translate needs into data science solutions, providing expert guidance and support throughout the process.
- Lead the development and deployment of data science models, employing advanced AI techniques and best practices. Ensure effective deployment in production environments, delivering tangible business value.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in AI and data science, enhancing team expertise and capabilities. Encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team to foster a culture of learning and innovation.
- Ensure proper documentation of projects, findings, and methodologies using tools like Confluence. Present reports to stakeholders, effectively communicating insights and recommendations from data analysis.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement within the data science workflow. Implement best practices and standardise processes to increase efficiency and productivity.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Hold a BS/MS in Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, or related field, with preference for advanced degrees.
- Demonstrate adeptness in model selection, understanding the nuances of ML/DL techniques. Showcase a track record of conducting comprehensive analysis, interpreting results effectively. Proficient in regression, classification, and cluster analysis, applying statistical techniques proficiently. Possess a strong grasp of applied statistics, including probability distributions and hypothesis testing.
- Exhibit proficiency in at least one deep learning technology, leveraging it for innovative solutions. Display expertise in specialized areas such as NLP, computer vision, operations research, data mining, ML, or AI with strong programming skills in SQL, Python having proficiency in object-oriented technologies and design principles.
- Familiarity with data visualisation tools like Tableau, Shiny, Seaborn, etc., for effective communication. Strong quantitative skills and ability to convey insights through data storytelling. Effective communication and presentation skills to diverse audiences.
- Initiative in driving projects from conception to completion with minimal guidance. Passionate about leveraging data for actionable insights and making data-driven decisions.
