30Job Description:Smile Education are delighted to be working alongside a forward-thinking primary school located in south Birmingham. We are currently seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join the team from September 2024.
We are currently seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to join this mainstream primary school from September 2024 until the end of the academic year. The successful applicant will be supporting pupils both inside and outside of the classroom. Working with small groups to provide intervention support on key areas of the curriculum and, where appropriate, providing 1:1 support. You will be working closely with class teachers, the school SENDCO, and parents and guardians.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work within a dynamic and fluid role as part of a vibrant primary school. The school is located in south Birmingham, within proximity to Kings Norton, Bournville, Stirchley and Birmingham City Centre. The expected salary range for this role is between £80-90 per day, depending on experience.
What to expect from applicants?
We would like applicants to have a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, such as Supporting Teaching and Learning. Prior experience of supporting pupils with SEND is desirable but not required as full training can be provided. Applicants must be able to build good rapport with pupils and be confident in working outside of the classroom with small groups and on a 1:1 basis.

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:

  • Hold a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification, such as Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Must be available to work on a full-time basis, Monday-Friday
  • Dedicated to supporting pupils reach their goals and achieve their very best potential
