Every child in the school has an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), and the school is dedicated to helping each pupil achieve their full potential through a nurturing, relationship-based approach.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Nurture Teacher to work with a small Year 9 group, delivering a creative, flexible, and trauma-informed curriculum.
The ideal candidate will understand the importance of emotional regulation, attachment-informed practice, and consistency in building trust with learners.
Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual EHCP outcomes Support pupils in developing confidence, self-esteem, and emotional literacy Create a safe, calm, and structured learning environment Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and pastoral staff to ensure holistic support Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and multi-agency teams Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS or equivalent) Experience teaching in an SEMH or SEND setting (preferred) Strong understanding of nurture principles and trauma-informed practice A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach In return, you’ll receive: Ongoing professional development and wellbeing support The opportunity to make a genuine difference in young people’s lives A welcoming, collaborative school community If you are passionate about nurturing and inspiring young people who need a different kind of education, we’d love to hear from you!
