48Job Description:Smile Education are recruiting for a school nurse to start in September for a school in Coventry.
The role will be to work 2.5 days a week. Wednesday – Friday.
We are seeking a dedicated School Nurse to join our team at a school in the local area. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing medical care and support to students, promoting a healthy school environment, and collaborating with staff to ensure student well-being.
Responsibilities:
– Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff regarding health concerns and care plans
– Provide first aid and medical assistance to students as needed
– Administer medication following school policies and procedures
– Develop and maintain student health records
– Assess student health needs and implement appropriate nursing interventions
– Monitor immunisation records and coordinate vaccination programmes
– Educate students on health-related topics
– Collaborate with teachers, counsellors, and other professionals to support student well-being
– Manage time effectively to prioritise tasks and respond promptly to medical emergencies
– Demonstrate leadership in promoting a safe and healthy school environment
Qualifications:
– Registered Nurse qualification with current NMC registration
– Previous experience in paediatric or school nursing is advantageous
– Strong communication skills to interact with students, parents, and colleagues effectively
– Ability to develop and implement care plans tailored to individual student needs
– Excellent time management skills to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently
– Demonstrated leadership qualities in promoting health initiatives within the school community

To be successful in your application, you should have experience in one or more of the following:
· An experienced office Administrator
· Have prior experience in using SIMS or CMIS/BROMCOM/ARBOR
· Available to join the team from May half-term until the end of the academic year.
