Job Opportunity: Sales Representative

Salary: £45,680 plus car allowance

Overall Purpose of Job: Working within the UK sales team, the primary responsibility is to generate sales enquiries within the UK and Ireland, promoting a wide range of machines and services. These enquiries will cover single machine sales as well as large development projects and upgrades.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Sales Generation:
  • Generate sales enquiries within the UK and Ireland, promoting a full range of machines and services.
  • Engage in both single machine sales and large development projects.

Customer Engagement:

  • Arrange and conduct regular customer visits and meetings to discuss potential opportunities.
  • Obtain and collate information such as required production and site details during customer discussions.

Project Coordination:

  • Support the sales director in preparing costing sheets, offer letters, and presentation materials.
  • Manage and update overall prospect lists and sales turnover forecasts.
  • Coordinate with various departments for project discussions, concept development, and ensuring optimum solutions.

Technical Assistance:

  • Conduct initial site surveys, take measurements, and create basic sketches or AutoCAD drawings.
  • Liaise with technical support teams overseas and other locations for accurate proposal drawings and project details.

Presentations and Demonstrations:

  • Develop, prepare, and conduct presentations in PowerPoint for both internal purposes and direct customer engagements.
  • Facilitate and coordinate customer visits to other facilities within the UK and Europe to showcase proposed machines.

Process Improvement:

  • Assist in developing new sales tools, proposal templates, and methodologies to improve consistency and efficiency.
  • Liaise with projects, service, and installation departments to incorporate continuous improvements from the sales stage.

Relationship Management:

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing clients and potential customers.
  • Attend exhibitions, promote products via social media, and stay updated with competitors’ developments.

Professional Conduct:

  • Convey a professional image in all communications and interactions.
  • Complete any other reasonably requested tasks commensurate with the level of the role.

Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Higher education to ONC or Level 3, particularly in Maths and English.
  • Experience in sales within a direct customer-facing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong time management, planning, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Self-motivated with a proactive and flexible approach.
  • Valid passport and driving license, with the ability to travel independently in the UK and internationally.

Desirable:

  • HND or equivalent Level 5 qualification with a focus on mechanical engineering.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD 2D design package.
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering principles, logistics, and workflow.
  • Experience conducting site surveys and taking measurements.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel for customer production data analysis.
