BAE Systems is hiring a Radar Systems Engineering Specialist to provide support for radar systems design, integration, and testing activities. The role involves producing and reviewing design specifications, integrating radar and avionics products, and analyzing problems found during test activities. The successful candidate will have a degree in a STEM subject or equivalent experience, along with experience in system design, integration, and testing. The role is part of the Eurofighter Typhoon Radar Equipment Design Responsibility team and requires occasional travel within the UK, mainland Europe, and potentially worldwide. Job Description:Job title: Radar Systems Engineering Specialist
Location: Warton / Hybrid – We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements
Salary: £52,084 – £57,344 (Commensurate with skills and experience)
What you’ll be doing:
· Provide specialist support to Radar systems design, integration, and test activities across all variants.
· Hold and partake in workshops as an effective means of maturing system design
· Produce and review design artefacts (e.g., specifications) ensuring they are complete and accurate to minimise development risk
· Be responsible for integration of Radar and Avionics products to ensure desired end-user capabilities can be delivered
· Transfer best practice across varying Radar products at different stages of their life cycle
· Support Radar Entry into Service with our Customers and ensure their needs and priorities are considered alongside the development plans
· Support the Trials and Analysis team by performing analysis of problems found during test activities
· Work closely with Avionics, Support Services, and the Radar supplier to ensure Mission Loadable Elements are adequately developed for applicable Radars
Your skills and experiences:
· A degree in a STEM subject or equivalent relevant experience (preferably with Systems Engineering focus).
· Experience of system design, integration, and test in the area of avionics and sensors
· A proactive approach to problem solving.
· Effective communication skills

The Typhoon Radar Equipment Design Responsibility (EDR) Team:
This is an exciting role for a Systems Engineering Specialist working within the Eurofighter Typhoon Radar Equipment Design Responsibility (EDR) team, in support of the design and integration activities on various Radar programmes.
The role sits within the EDR team based in Warton, working closely with the Radar Equipment Supplier (EuroRadar, Leonardo-UK, Hensoldt, Leonardo-IT and Indra), Eurofighter GmbH and other System Design Responsibility (SDR) engineering disciplines within the UK and across Europe.
The successful candidate will have a pro-active approach to problem solving and will provide specialist engineering support to the multiple concurrent Radar programmes. This exciting role requires a wide range of engineering skills, teamwork, and product focus.
Due to the nature of working with the Radar Supplier and other stakeholders, the job holder will be required to travel occasionally within the UK and mainland Europe. There may be a need for travel to Customer sites within Europe and worldwide.
