Avara Foods is seeking a QA Process Leader to join their team at their site in Wednesbury. The role involves verifying and validating legal compliance in food manufacturing and customer specifications within the Added Value site. About the role:
As QA Process Leader you’ll be working as part of the Technical Department, verifying and validating legal compliance in food manufacturing and customer specifications within the Added Value site.
To ensure product safety / quality / legality through effective HACCP, Food Defence and Quality System and adherence to customer specifications and requirements.
Undertake audits of our processes and procedures to ensure the site maintains certification and accreditation with all relevant licensing bodies and retailers. Support, where appropriate, the technical management team in preparation for and during third party audits and customer visits.
So you’ll be working in a fast-paced, dynamic FMCG factory environment which is noisy and refrigerated in some areas, manufacturing short shelf life products where hygiene standards are critical.
Main Accountabilities and Duties
Lead the Quality Auditors to always operate in a safe manner.
Delivering training of technical task procedures to colleagues and completing
competency assessments where needed.
Monitor and review QA’s weekly task list and ensure good communication between all shifts.
Monitor and audit Production Operations to ensure that customer requirements are understood and achieved.
Managing the NC’s log for products on hold, ensuring the release, rework, repack and disposal of products in a timely manner, liaising with planning, production and despatch.
Inspecting product against customer quality contract agreements
GMP Audits – conduct against a scheduled frequency to ensure good manufacturing practice at site
Complete required audits such as hygiene audits, glass & plastics, fabrication audits and CCP audits in line with site procedures
Ensure all paperwork is completed in full, in line with company procedures and legal requirements
Carry out verification checks of calibration of measuring equipment in accordance with the schedule
Carry out swabbing verification.
Support the Supply Chain Coordinator with Traceability in accordance with the scheduled frequency and as required.
Working with and supporting the technical coordinators with a full understanding of SI product data base, Clearview, checkweighers etc.
Maintenance of new Micro sampling programme and shelf-life testing
Support the delivery of the Wednesbury Quality Objectives and Food Safety Culture.
HACCP and Food Defence team member.
Support filing of record documents and archiving.
