Psychologist – looked after children

Shire Healthcare is seeking a Psychologist to support children and young people with trauma and attachment issues in residential settings across Peterborough, Northampton, London, and Kent. The role involves conducting assessments, formulating interventions, and delivering trauma-informed practices while addressing emotional and behavioural needs. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with a salary of up to £60,000. Candidates must hold HCPC registration and have experience with complex emotional and neurodiverse needs. Shire Healthcare are recruiting for a *Psychologist* to work with children and young people presenting with *Trauma /Attachment *issues alongside *complex *mental health in *residential *settings working across sites in Peterborough (main office) , Northampton, London and Kent.
*Role snapshot:*
The successful candidate will involve working with children and young people who are looked after, to complete *assessments*, *formulations *and *interventions*, while delivering *trauma*-*informed practice. *This includes supporting *emotional* and *behavioural* needs such as trauma, attachment, autism and learning disabilities amongst other mental health. You will champion safeguarding and design and deliver staff *training *which is engaging.
*Contract Type – *permanent
*Hours* – Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm
*Salary* – Up to £60,000 FTE
*Experience required:*
Candidates applying will have *HCPC* registration as a *Psychologist* and experience working with *children* and *young* *people* with complex emotional, behavioural/ neurodiverse needs either during doctoral training or post qualifying.
