An independent, award-winning multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join their dynamic 8 staff strong civils team in London. Role Overview
The successful candidate will work on technically challenging projects, focusing on delivering results to clients. Reporting to a Partner or Associate, you will be responsible for the production and management of various Civil Engineering projects from inception to completion.
Responsibilities
– Manage project production from inception to completion with oversight from a Partner or Associate.
– Prepare project management plans, appointment documents, financial management, invoice drafting, report writing, calculation, specification, drawing, and PDS/Civil 3D model production.
– Prepare Flood Risk Assessments and Drainage Strategies to suit client needs.
– Provide leadership and management to project resources.
– Make technical and commercial decisions to control exposure to risk with support from the Project Partner.
– Liaise with co-professionals and clients through meetings and conference calls, contributing to information production and execution programmes.
– Delegate workload, monitor delivery, and help train and mentor other team members.
Requirements
– Minimum of 3 years’ experience compiling submissions to UK Building Control.
– Demonstrated creativity and innovation in civil engineering design solutions across highways and drainage design.
– Significant knowledge and experience of relevant regulations and guidance, including the most up-to-date versions of:
– Manual for Streets
– Design Manual for Roads and Bridges
– Sewers for Adoption
– SuDS Manual
– National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF)
– Experience with PDS, Micro Drainage, and AutoCAD (Civils 3D preferable).
– Knowledge and experience of the application of the CDM Regulations.
– Ability to plan and manage personal and team effectiveness.
– Competent and confident in giving presentations internally and to clients and co-professionals.
– Commercial awareness and understanding of professional risks, including actions necessary to satisfy the terms of appointments, warranties, and insurances.
