Project Budget Controller Leeds Permanent Competitive Flexible Benefits Summary Freedom’s Professional Services team are looking for a Project Budget Controller to be based out of our Leeds office on a hybrid basis.
This will ideally be someone with some Accounting experience of some sort and be working towards their AAT qualification.
Working closely with Finance and Team Leaders, the Project Budget Controller will monitor and report on project and portfolio activities and KPIs, reporting into the Operations Manager for the business unit.
Some of the key deliverables in this role will include: Providing the design business management with project and portfolio level data, such as total number of projects with underspend, BU invoicing histograms, and tracking of overtime on projects.
Running standard and ad-hoc reports for the management team on projects and/or people, as requested.
Undertaking specific project investigations as requested; performing route-cause analysis to determine why projects are not performing/suffering poor performance.
Ensuring timesheets are submitted in a timely manner.
Collation of resource utilisation data from staff timesheets.
Undertaking project reviews in real-time as part of the monitoring function, ensuring not going over-budget and costs allocated correctly.
Invoicing (including raising of credit notes), and monitoring against forecast.
Raising purchase orders and goods receipting.
Identification of budget releases at month end.
Support with onboarding of new customers.
Owning the Focalpoint platform for managing projects in the design business, acting as key point of contact for any Focalpoint issues or requests for information by engineers/ management.
Understanding all functionality in Focalpoint and advising on best practices for use of the platform.
Supporting Engineers/TLs on Earned Value Analysis of their projects.
Communicating best practice, e.g.
project naming and timesheet reporting.
What we’re looking for : Previous experience in an Accountancy setting with an understanding around accounting logic.
Ideally working towards AAT qualification.
Good MS Excel skills including the use of look ups and pivot tables.
