My client is an established firm in the engineering manufacturing sector, based in Swadlincote. They are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production schedules, managing inventory levels, and ensuring efficient workflow within manufacturing operations. Commutable from Burton upon Trent, Tamworth, Market Bosworth, Coalville and Derby. They are currently looking for a skilled Production Planner to join their team.
The Role:
– Develop and maintain production schedules to meet customer demands based on production capacity, sales forecasts and inventory levels
– Coordinate with various departments and suppliers to ensure timely availability/delivery of materials and components
– Monitor inventory levels and order materials as needed to prevent production delays
– Prioritise production scedules and resolve any production issues by working the production team
– Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance production efficiency and minimise waste
– Provide senior management with regular reports on production and material planning performance
– Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to ensure production plans align with customer demand
– Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure the timely delivery of materials
Minimum Skills / Experience Required:
– Proven experience as a Production Planner in a production, manufacturing environment
– Strong organisational and time-management skills
– Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
– Proficiency in production planning software and Microsoft Office Suite
– Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment
– Experience with ERP systems and advanced planning tools is advantageous
– Strong knowledge of production and inventory planning principles
– Ideally educated to degree level in Business, Supplu Chain Management, Manufacturing or a related field
The Package:
– Starting salary £35k-£40k depending on experience
– 33 holidays per year, inclusive of Bank Holidays which increases with service
