Rotajet Systems Ltd, a leading European engineering design and manufacturing company, is seeking a full-time Production Planner in Wakefield. The successful candidate will work with the existing engineering team to plan the production process from start to finish, including various disciplines. Responsibilities include control and management of the production build plan, spares orders control and management, scheduling new orders, and reviewing production methods to maximize productivity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in production planning and computer skills, with knowledge of engineering and experience with Autocad 2D and planning software being desirable.

Job description

Rotajet Systems Ltd is a leading European engineering design and manufacturing company. The company produces world class products for wash and separation machinery and as a result of significant investment in people, plant and technology we now require a full time production planner.

The successful candidate will work with our existing engineering team, to plan the production process from start to finish including a verity of disciplines.

A core part of the job will be working with the engineers, ensuring the business delivers on all current machines, process systems and spares.  Deliveries can range from 40 weeks lead time, down to the next day.

The versatility of the role is ideal for a person looking to develop their existing skills, learning new methods of planning whilst expanding their engineering technical knowledge.

This work includes:

  • Control and management of the production build plan
  • Management and logging of all production and hours
  • Spares orders control and management
  • Scheduling new orders into the plan
  • Monitoring longer term project completion dates, reviewing with the Directors
  • Production hours review, assessing actual hours taken against budgeted hours
  • Stock assessment, management and identifying critical lead time items
  • Producing production work packages
  • Supporting the engineering team
  • Reviewing production methods and flow to maximise productivity
  • Developing equipment designs through CAD and prototyping

Personal Qualities

The ideal candidate will be an experienced engineering planner with a key eye to detail and motivation to develop the role and support the Directors to move the business forward.  

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Essential

  • A strong background in production planning
  • Computer skills

  Desirable

  • Engineering knowledge
  • Experience with Autocad 2D
  • Knowledge of working with planning and production software, Unleashed, Prospect, Planeus
