My client is an established firm in the engineering manufacturing sector for Aerospace equipment, based near Walsall commutable from Birmingham, Stafford, Aldridge, Burntwood, Sutton Coldfield, Tamworth and Wolverhampton. They are currently looking for an experienced Technical Process Engineer with a background in precision engineering and manufacturing. With a full order book and a diverse range of bespoke equipment no two days will be the same in this position.
Other suitable job titles could include: Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer, Production Planner, Process Planner or Planning Engineer.
The Role – Process Engineer
- Working with engineering drawings, predominantly for aerospace machined components
- Create work instructions / Route cards for the manufacturing process.
- Estimate hours required for each discipline in the route
- Identify all mandatory requirements needed to complete production
- Involvement in contract review process.
- Interrogate ERP System to establish components to be produced.
- Work with the team to establish raw material requirements.
- Create work to lists in order of priority to support the Production Manager.
- Create work packs to be issued to the shop floor for manufacture.
- Support Commercial Director & Engineering Director by providing information as required.
- Liaise with the customers to resolve manufacturing issues to support the commercial team.
- Work with the shop floor to create / amend the documents as required.
Minimum Skills / Experience Required:
- Recent experience as a Process Engineer, Production Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer within a precision engineering and manufacturing environment
- Experience working with an ERP system
- Experience of creating route cards for welding/fabrication/machining/assembly processes
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Good communication skills; both verbally and written
- Be a team player who is self-motivated and quality orientated
The Package:
- Salary £35k-£45k per annum
- Salary depending on skill and experience level
