111Job Description:We seek a Process Engineer to join The Operational Projects and Logistics (OPAL) team to help drive process improvement and asset availability as part of the Thames Waters Turnaround plan. You will be responsible for supporting CMP Asset Integrity, OPAL and Operations teams when problems arise on-site to maximise process and asset availability, reduce or negate additional costs, and process risk and ensure the availability of reception and import centres is maximised.
What you’ll be doing as a Process Engineer
- As the Process Engineer, you will provide technical support at our sewage treatment sites in either the Home Counties or Thames Valley areas, supporting the OPAL and Operations teams to deliver process performance and asset availability and resilience.
- Areas of focus include asset availability, process security, power generation, energy consumption, chemical usage, sludge dewatering, temporary and/or permanent solutions, availability of import and reception centres, return to operation with minimal impact to the business and compiling cost of failure, RTO and timescales and lessons learnt data.
- You will use your understanding of the sewage treatment process to minimise the cost of treatment while protecting compliance with discharge permits.
- You will be exposed to a variety of sites and projects, directly contributing to their success by assisting in their return to operation and potential design, commissioning, and integration and/or temporary/permanent solutions.
- Your day-to-day input will directly contribute to the wastewater operational Wastewater strategic goals of reducing waste and improving operational efficiency.
- You will use your technical expertise to influence and advise operational and project teams, as well as procurement and other commercial departments.
Base locations can be flexible in Thames Valley and Home Counties areas. These are mainly site-based roles, with travel across our operational areas.
36 hours a week, Monday to Friday
The successful candidate must have access to a car and hold a driver’s licence.
What you should bring to the role
- You will have experience in a relevant science or engineering discipline: Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental or Wastewater.
- Wastewater experience preferred.
- It is essential that you are confident in communicating professionally both verbally and in writing; have strong influencing skills and be able to build healthy working relationships quickly.
- Process investigation/recovery/mitigation/Impact Assessment.
- Work with or for frontline Operations in an industrial process setting.
- Stakeholder management, influencing and communication.
