BAE Systems is seeking a Principal Operations Engineer for their SSNA Infrastructure team in Barrow-In-Furness. The role involves establishing and owning requirements for a new production line operating model, deploying new industrial capabilities, and supporting business cases for operations improvements. The ideal candidate will have an HNC with extensive engineering/operations experience or an appropriate degree with some operations experience, as well as experience in engineering oversight, facility and site management, and process mapping. Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience
What you’ll be doing:
· You will be joining a team where every member has scope to influence change, establishing and owning all requirements for a new Production Line Operating Model for existing and new facilities
· While retaining appreciation for the current way of work within the production line, you will be able to bring forward fresh, innovative ideas for Process Improvement
· This will see you Deploying new industrial capabilities and technologies and becoming Future Subject Matter Experts for areas throughout the new business
· Using your knowledge and expertise to support business cases for operations improvements
· Building and managing relationships with facility owners and Contractors, Networking / Interfacing cross function
Your skills and experiences:
· HNC with extensive Engineering / Operations experience OR Appropriate degree with some Operations experience
· Experience of Engineering oversight to major projects, oversight of facility configuration and management of system / facility health
· People management and networking experience
· Experience in facility and site management / process mapping

The Build & Test (SSNA Infrastructure) team:
Your new team will consist of experienced, proactive individuals, who oversee and lead change / change requirements within our business. Bringing forward ideas for improvements and leading / implementing these changes throughout the business and production lines. Reporting to the Infrastructure management team you will be proactive in leading the delivery of highly complex, cross discipline projects. You will have the opportunity to improve and implement new processes on the production of these projects providing you with the opportunity to make a real impact through your work and on our World Class Submarines.
