A dedicated and experienced Pre-Operative Assessment Nurse is sought to join the team for a contract of 2 to 3 months. The nurse will be responsible for conducting thorough pre-operative assessments, performing clinical observations, and identifying any concerns regarding patients’ fitness for surgery. They will provide clear advice to patients and liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless patient journey while maintaining accurate documentation in line with NHS policies. Essential requirements include NMC registration and at least two years of experience in a pre-operative assessment clinic, including skills in auscultation and 12-lead ECGs.
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Pre-Operative Assessment Nurse to join our team.
You will play a key role in assessing patients before surgery, ensuring they are medically fit and prepared for their procedure.
Responsibilities: Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments Perform clinical observations such as, auscultation, blood pressure, 12 lead ECGs, blood tests, and other relevant investigations.
Identify and escalate any concerns regarding a patient’s fitness for surgery.
Provide clear pre-operative advice and information to patients and their families.
Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to ensure a seamless patient journey.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation in line with NHS policies Job details: Contract Length: 2–3 months Shift Patterns: Day shifts, 8:00
– 18:00, Monday
