Our client, a further education college located across South Wales, is looking to recruit a Motor Vehicle Lecturer to join their Swansea campuses teaching their motor vehicle programmes on a full-time permanent basis.
Working from our client’s campuses in Tycoch and Gorseinon, your key responsibilities will include:
- Plan, prepare, and teach across a range of courses in motor vehicle technology ensuring schemes/records of work, and assignment schedules, are appropriate.
- Ensure teaching and learning strategies and teaching materials are planned as well as accessible to meet the varied needs of all learners.
- Assess and monitor learner progress, including the setting of targets, and maintaining records of work and achievement in line with internal and external schedules/criteria and college targets.
- Promote and encourage positive student behaviour following our client’s values both in the classroom and around the wider college environment.
To be considered, you must be fully qualified to at least IMI/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or hold a relevant university degree in a similar area. You should have a solid understanding of motor vehicle technology and teaching experience in a variety of subjects, preferably including hybrid and electric vehicles. While a teaching/training qualification would be beneficial, it is not mandatory if you are willing to work towards or have knowledge of incorporating Key Skills into the relevant curriculum and are capable of teaching Courses Level 1-3. Additionally, you will need a Level 2 (GCSE or equivalent) grade C or above in literacy & numeracy, a valid UK driving license with minimal points, and must be open to undergoing an enhanced DBS check.
