Metrology Engineer required to join a luxury automotive brand based in Daventry on a Permanent paying in the region of £35,000-£40,000 per annum (dependant on experience).

We are looking for highly skilled Metrology Engineer to join an existing team of restoration experts who operate with finesse and skill. The Metrology Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and precision of measurements within an automotive manufacturing discipline. Working with precision and skill, you’ll use your experience within 3D measurement processes using Polyworks, Metrolog and CAM2. Your role will involve driving a quality approach across assembly validation and build documentation, promoting continuous improvement every step of the way.

Our client is looking to place a skilled Metrology Engineer on a permanent basis working a Day Shift Monday to Friday with ample opportunity for overtime! The duties and responsibilities of the Metrology Engineer:
- Use the appropriate gauges and measuring instruments to ensure accurate and repeatable measurements are taken.
- Dimensionally inspect vehicles using 3D scanning & Faro arm.
- Measure and align components using probe point measurement arms.
- Maintain inspection records in an accurate and timely manner.
- Interpret measurement data & provide trend analysis, work alongside Manufacturing Engineering team with tooling improvements.
- Provide technical support – measurement & validation to the wider team.
- Work with the Quality & Manufacturing Engineering teams using the appropriate quality tools to determine route cause and identify containments and countermeasures.
- Deliver, maintain & drive a quality approach across assembly validation and build documentation.
- Demonstrate an attitude of continuous improvement and co-operation within the department.
- Ensure that any problems that may threaten production are escalated immediately.
- Work with SQA team to provide feedback of part quality concerns into supplier.
- Ensure the department and surrounding environment is clean and tidy promoting 5S activity.
The ideal Metrology Engineer:
- Proven hands-on experience in an Automotive component inspection role.
- Proven experience in problem solving within a manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of Scanning and Probe point measuring systems.
- Experience in Polyworks, CAM2 and Metrolog.
- Ability to read and understand engineer drawings including symbols and tolerances.
- Strong working knowledge of measuring instruments and methods.
- Experience of recording and maintaining inspection record sheet.
Hours: Day Shift: Monday – Thursday: 7.30am – 16.15pm and Friday 7.00am – 15.30pm with the opportunity for weekday and Saturday overtime.
Pay: IRO £35,000-£40,000 per annum
