Job Title: Social Worker for Child Protection Team
Location: Weymouth
Payrate: £35.00 per hour
Job Type: Temporary
Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Social Worker to join our Child Protection team in the Weymouth.
The ideal candidate will have experience in child protection and court proceedings, a positive outlook, and a commitment to kindness and teamwork.
You will be responsible for managing a caseload within our Child Protection and Complex Child in Need (CIN) team, working closely with multidisciplinary teams to address extra-familiar risks and harms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Case Management: Hold and manage a caseload of child protection and complex CIN cases.
- Court Work: Prepare for and attend court, providing expert testimony and thorough documentation.
- Child Protection: Act as the lead practitioner in child protection cases, ensuring the safety and well-being of children.
- Multidisciplinary Collaboration: Work collaboratively with adult practitioners and other professionals as part of our multidisciplinary teams.
- Risk Management: Address extra-familiar risks and harms, ensuring a comprehensive approach to child protection.
- Motivational Interviewing: Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to engage with children and families effectively. Training will be provided if not already trained.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Degree in Social Work: A bachelor’s degree in social work or equivalent.
- Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.
- DBS Check: An enhanced DBS check is required
- Experience: Proven experience in child protection, court work, and working within multidisciplinary teams.
- Skills: Ability to work with a positive outlook, demonstrate kindness, and thrive as part of a friendly and supportive team.
Desirable Skills:
- Motivational Interviewing: Previous training in motivational interviewing is advantageous but not essential as training will be offered.
