Support Worker £16ph 

£ 80 sleep in rate 

Location: Bath

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Companion to provide personalized care and assistance to a young man with autism and ADHD in the Bath area. The successful candidate will play a vital role in offering companionship, reassurance, and emotional support, while facilitating community engagement, fostering independence, and understanding sensory issues and triggers.

This fulfilling position involves supporting the individual in pursuing his interests, particularly in animals and staying active. 

The role requires availability for Monday to Thursday – including sleeps

Key Responsibilities:

  • Companionship and Emotional Support:
  • Build a strong rapport with the individual to establish a trusting and supportive relationship.
  • Provide companionship, reassurance, and emotional support tailored to his unique needs.

  • Community Access:
  • Enable the individual to engage with the community, fostering social interactions and inclusivity.
  • Accompany him on outings and activities, ensuring a positive and enriching experience.

  • Independence Support:
  • Encourage and empower the individual to make independent choices and decisions.
  • Provide assistance when needed, promoting self-sufficiency and autonomy.

  • Sensory Awareness:
  • Develop an understanding of sensory issues and triggers specific to the individual.
  • Create a sensory-friendly environment and employ strategies to minimize potential challenges.

  • Interest-Based Support:
  • Support the pursuit of the individual’s interests, with a particular focus on animals and outdoor activities.
  • Facilitate access to activities that align with his passions and hobbies.

  • Physical Activity:
  • Encourage and engage in physical activities to promote a healthy and active lifestyle.
  • Collaborate with the individual to identify and participate in activities that align with his preferences.

The refer a friend scheme is worth £200 in total. This is split £100 after the person has worked 100 hours and then another £100 when they have passed probation (6 months usually).
