48Job Description:Are you an experienced Nutrition Scientist driven by a desire to make a lasting difference by shaping the future of nutrition and sustainable diets? We are currently recruiting for a *Lead Nutrition Scientist *in our market development team to work on a hybrid basis, two/three days from our HQ in Coventry and the remainder working remotely from home.
Working for the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB), an innovative and independent public body, this newly appointed role will provide the link between scientific discovery in human health and nutrition and creating meaningful propositions that promote and protect the reputation of UK food and farming.
You will need a high level of acumen alongside deep scientific understanding as you will be responsible for providing scientific expertise and leadership across diverse disciplines. Your role will be essential in shaping and delivering the nutrition and health strategy, fostering collaborations, managing projects, scientific trials & research and have extensive experience in reviewing and effectively communicating the latest nutrition science.

*Responsibilities *
* Build and leverage the latest human health and nutritional science on levy payer products and the benefits of these for both health and planetary health to stakeholders (Retailers, KOL, Key nutrition influencers, HCP, academic institutes and wider scientific community)
* Support AHDBS Head of Nutrition and Health in the development and delivery of the nutrition and health strategy, providing human nutrition science expertise to support the AHDBs wider objective to promote and protect the reputation of UK farming and levy products, ensuring that independent scientific expertise and excellence is maintained and enhanced
* Support and promote scientific knowledge and research in human nutrition & health
* Identify opportunities and support the delivery of new research projects and collaborations to leverage AHDB as an independent scientific platform for open discussion and knowledge sharing with academic institutions, farmers, and growers
* Act as a senior spokesperson for AHDB sectors on matters relating to human nutrition and health, providing thought leadership for UK industry on the role of meat and dairy within a healthy and sustainable diet
* Represent AHDB sectors on relevant scientific external groups and committees and actively seek to promote AHDBs profile and role within the debate on healthy and sustainable diets, including undertaking public speaking opportunities
*Essential Criteria *
* Masters degree in nutrition/ nutritional science or related discipline (PhD desirable) and Registered Nutritionist (RNutr) or Registration in Dietetics
* Substantial experience as a Nutrition Scientist
* Extensive experience in accurately translating, critically reviewing, and effectively communicating new scientific research
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including working closely with executive teams
* Ability to truly collaborate cross-functionally with a variety of different teams across the organisation and with external stakeholders
* Entrepreneurial and commercial mindset fast learner and ability to work in a fast-paced innovative environment
* Strong decision making, problem solving and organisational skills
* Flexibility to travel as part of the role
