We are currently seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Science Laboratory Technician to join a prestigious educational institution in the Rhondda Cynon Taf area. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting the science department by maintaining laboratory equipment, preparing materials for experiments, and ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the laboratory environment. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 

• Prepare laboratory equipment and materials for science experiments and demonstrations. 
• Assist teachers and students during laboratory sessions, providing technical support and guidance as needed. 
• Maintain an inventory of laboratory supplies and equipment, ordering replacements as necessary. 
• Ensure that laboratory equipment is functioning properly and perform basic repairs and maintenance when required. 
• Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe and secure laboratory environment for students and staff. 
• Keep accurate records of laboratory activities and assist with the organization of laboratory schedules and resources. 
• Support teachers in the development of laboratory exercises and experiments, providing input and suggestions as needed. 

Qualifications and Skills: 

• Previous experience working in a laboratory setting, preferably in a school or educational institution. 
• Familiarity with laboratory equipment and procedures commonly used in science education. 
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and collaborate with teachers and other staff members. 
• Commitment to promoting a positive and supportive learning environment for students. 

Working Hours: 

• This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday, following the school’s operating hours.
