We’re currently going through a phase of significant change and as such are looking for an exceptional Infrastructure Engineer. You’ll play a pivotal role in supporting AQA’s security and infrastructure (on premise and cloud) that underpin our exam processing capabilities.
The role will offer the successful applicant the opportunity to join us as we embark on the next phase of a substantial programme of technology refresh and investment.
You will be mentored by Senior Infrastructure Engineers along with exposure to networking engineering allowing you to grow and develop in a cross collaborative environment.
Part of this role will see you on the On Call Rota where overtime pay is available.
As an Infrastructure professional you’ll be motivated with the experience and capability to support colleagues in the development, support and promotion of all things Infrastructure. Your ability to work collaboratively within the existing team in both projects and BAU is essential.
Communicating with others is an important part of this role so we do ask that this is something you are keen to embrace.
About you:
Good awareness and knowledge across all mainstream areas of Infrastructure including enterprise cloud infrastructure
Experience of supporting technical change programmes, particularly those tasked with modernising IT landscapes and the digitisation of business activities
Excellent communicator, able to engage with colleagues, partners and business stakeholders in support of refining requirements and the development & implementation of proposed solutions
Infrastructure professional with a broad experience of most operating systems | hardware and technologies in the mainstream
Essential skills:
Microsoft Cloud technologies
Microsoft Server up to 2019
Exchange Server 2016 – knowledge of versions up to 2019 advantageous
VMware 6.7 – knowledge of versions up to 7.x advantageous
Office 365 – knowledge of hybrid deployment models for Exchange / Skype for Business advantageous
Backup technologies
