Successful candidates will be offered the minimum of the pay scale and in some circumstances salary negotiations will be dependent on the demonstration of skills and experience. All our roles come with an excellent benefits package, including the generous Civil Service Pension Scheme. Further salary increases depend entirely upon the outcome of our annual pay negotiation with central government. Job summary
Were looking for Identity (ID) Verification Examiners and Decision-Makers to work in our newly established ID Complex Cases team, responsible for complex ID verification cases for Company Directors across the globe.
This team is essential in supporting our customers who are seeking to verify their identities but need to do so via a specialised route this is a new process for Companies House, and youll be helping to provide a great service and will bring your decision making and problem-solving skills to some of our most complex cases.
Youll examine and review identity documents from across the globe, to confirm eligibility and compliance. Youll also be helping our customers worldwide, to have the highest levels of confidence in our systems, processes and the UK economy.

Job description
Our ID Verification Examiners and Decision-Makers in our Complex Cases team will:
Manage complex ID verification cases, where the applicants evidence requires further investigation and interrogation.
Review and examine eligibility, authenticity and compliance of documentation received and associated evidence the evidence and documentation is likely to be in languages other than English, from predominantly non-European countries and which cannot be notarised or processed via the One Gov Login process or an Authorised Corporate Service Provider (ACSP).
Take responsibility for making evidence-based decisions and have confidence in their own decision making, to assess authenticity of documentation and consider whether it may be fraudulent.
Undertake investigative work to check submitted evidence and associated documentation.
Work to targets and in accordance with best practice guidelines this will involve working in an organised, efficient and effective way.
Provide high quality customer service communicating clearly, sensitively and effectively with our customers.
Think constructively and critically, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy and authenticity.
Evaluate and understand when cases require escalation – making informed decisions, using information and intelligence received, to take appropriate action and effectively follow processes.
Comprehensively record rationale for actions and decisions, including identifying potential risks, using IT systems where required for this.
Work independently and as part of a team – communicating and working together effectively, as some work will be undertaken collaboratively, whilst also escalating more complex cases to senior colleagues.
Liaise and share information with colleagues and senior stakeholders – to develop and maintain their own knowledge, to ensure trends are investigated, to suggest areas for improvement and to develop awareness of how different countries and cultures operate.

You will be aligned to our Cardiff Office, where we are currently using a hybrid approach to the way we work. Our approach to hybrid working provides opportunities for you to be adaptable in the way you work so that you can achieve a healthy balance between your work and home life. What will the process look like?
Well carry out a sift of applications. We may raise the score required at sift stage to progress to interview if we receive a high number of applications.
Successful candidates at sift will be invited to an interview which will be held in our Cardiff Office.
Our interviews for this role will be assessment centre style interviews. These will include a group task to assess the behaviour ‘Working Together’ and then an interview to assess the other behaviours and your experience of having an investigative mindset – including constructive and critical thinking. You will need to be successful in both parts of the process (the interview and group task) to be successful overall.
We plan to sift applications in mid-late June and interview in early July. Please bear in mind these dates might need to change – we will keep you informed as you move through the recruitment process.

Companies House holds a Visa sponsorship licence but this can only be used for certain roles and this campaign does not qualify. Security Vetting
Successful candidates must pass a Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check before they can be appointed.
BPSS is an entry level security check. It uses the Police National Computer (PNC) to make sure a candidate has no convictions. The check returns evidence of any current criminal record and un-spent convictions under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
Successful candidates for these roles must also meet the security requirements for Security Check (SC) before they can be appointed.
The requirement for SC clearance is to have been present in the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years. Failure to meet the residency requirements will result in your security clearance application being rejected.
