100Job Description:*The role*
We are looking for a *Housing Assistant* to provide tenancy sustainment and an intensive housing management service across specialist supported housing schemes and properties on the Isle of Wight. Working in partnership with the NHS and other statutory and voluntary sector agencies, you will promote the highest standards of quality, efficiency and consistency, in line with Southern Housing’s vision, values and corporate culture.

You will be working from our office The Court Yard in Newport.
*What you’ll be doing *
* Work with residents who have care and support needs across specialist supported schemes and properties in various locations island wide, to deliver an intensive housing management service, following the principles of a psychologically informed environments.
* Work in partnership with the NHS and other key stakeholder agencies to maximise opportunities for residents to live with as much independence as possible and manage the conditions of their occupancy agreement.
* Work with key agencies to support residents to move-on to independent living in the wider community.
* To work with the Housing Officer to manage voids and lettings; arranging and supervising viewings and carry out occupancy sign-up paperwork
* Provide tenancy advice and services to residents, including supporting/updating the Housing Officer with managing rent arrears and ASB issues
* Refer residents to specialist agencies for additional support as relevant
* Undertake health and safety inspections, checks and carry out estate inspections, address actions and communicate to the Housing Officer.
The successful candidate will need to travel throughout the area and work flexibly across various locations within the service. You will need to have a full driving licence and access to a vehicle, be available 24/7 for out-of-ours emergency call-out on a rota basis. You will be subject to an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Services check and an Adult Barred List check as well as other regulatory checks required.
*What you’ll need *
* Hold 5 GCSE passes at grade “C” or above (or equivalent Grade 9-5) inc Maths & English
* Driving licence and access to a vehicle
* Experience of working in a customer focused service environment
* Experience of tenancy sustainment and intensive housing management, statutory requirements and legislation relevant to the provision of housing care & support
* Able to communicate clearly, accurately and effectively using range of different channels
* Health & Safety awareness
* Basic IT skills
