Are you passionate about driving high safety standards, shaping effective governance systems, and making a tangible impact in one of the most unique working environments in the UK?
Join the UK Parliament’s Parliamentary Safety Team (PST) in this vital role where you’ll help develop and implement the Parliamentary Safety Management System (SMS), support health and safety strategy, and champion compliance and assurance across the Parliamentary Estate. This position offers the opportunity to work at the heart of British democracy, contributing directly to the safety and wellbeing of everyone who works within or visits the Houses of Parliament.
This isn’t just another safety role, you’ll be operating in a complex, historic and high-profile environment. From shaping policies that underpin safe working practices, to leveraging technology and data to improve safety performance, your work will support a positive and proactive safety culture across both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.

What we’re looking for.
We’re looking for someone who is not only experienced in Health & Safety but thrives in an environment of continual improvement, influence, and innovation. You will bring the following skills:
- A Level 3 qualification (or working towards) in Health and Safety (e.g. NEBOSH, NVQ), and membership of a relevant professional body such as IOSH or IIRSM.
- Experience developing health and safety strategy, policies, and procedures in complex environments.
- Skilled in data analysis, report writing, and presenting safety performance and assurance findings clearly.
- Sound understanding of safety legislation, governance frameworks, and best practice in compliance and assurance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to influence and challenge stakeholders effectively.
- Collaborative mindset with a commitment to inclusion, building effective partnerships across diverse teams.
