Head of Grocery (FTC) – Challenger Spirit Brand – London – Up to £3k per month, 2 days per week.
This client is on a mission to disrupt the spirits industry with their innovative and high-quality products. Their brand embodies a bold and adventurous spirit, and they looking for a dynamic leader to take charge of our grocery channel. If you have a passion for the grocery and retail sectors and a knack for building strong relationships, they want you on their team!
As the Head of Grocery, you will spearhead their efforts to expand and enhance their presence in the grocery retail market. You will leverage your industry connections and strategic mindset to drive sales, build partnerships, and ensure our products stand out on the shelves. This is a pivotal role that requires a blend of strategic thinking, leadership, and hands-on execution.
This role is a fixed term contract which has the possibility to become permanent. So we are on the search for a candidate with fantastic Grocery and Off Trade connections who is keen to work part time or as a consultancy basis.
The Head of Grocery Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive grocery channel strategy aligned with our brand’s growth objectives.
- Build and nurture strong relationships with key grocery retailers and distributors to maximize product visibility and sales.
- Drive sales performance through effective management of the grocery sales team, setting targets, and monitoring results.
- Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive positioning.
- Collaborate with marketing to design and execute impactful promotional campaigns and in-store activations.
- Lead negotiations with retailers on pricing, promotions, and distribution agreements.
The ideal Head of Grocery Candidate:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior sales covering Grocery and the Off Trade sector.
- Established network of contacts within the grocery and retail industries.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team to achieve outstanding results.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and executing successful market strategies.
- Enthusiasm for the spirits industry and a challenger brand mindset.
