Head of Finance

Job Summary by the Career Balance Team:

A manufacturing company on the outskirts of Doncaster is seeking a Head of Finance to run the small finance team and provide strategic and financial guidance. The role involves producing monthly financial reports, managing cashflow, and overseeing annual audits and budgeting. The ideal candidate is a qualified accountant with strong technical skills and experience working with ERP systems. The salary for the position is up to £46,000 per year, and the package includes a company car, pension scheme, and 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.

Job Description:Head of Finance – Doncaster – £46,000 + Car

Chase & Holland are delighted to be working with a manufacturing business based on the outskirts of Doncaster, who are looking for a Head of Finance. This is a key role to run the small finance team and provide strategic and financial guidance to ensure the company’s commitments are met. Working collaboratively across the many cross-functional teams within the business, you will drive business process improvement and optimisation.

Reporting to the Managing Director the role will include the following duties:      

• Producing the monthly consolidated financials and KPIs reporting – communicating these in a timely manner to the SLT
• Management and optimisation of the cashflow
• Producing all annual statutory financial and tax audits for the business and liaising with the audit teams to ensure all complete for the required deadline
• Annual budgeting and rolling detailed forecast models
• Liaising with external parties for the VAT, tax and banking requirements
• Developing and maintaining all necessary systems, policies and procedures
• Leading the finance team – 2 direct reports

The ideal candidate:    

• Qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA Accountant
• Technically strong including statutory reporting and management accounts
• Strong excel skills and exposure working with ERP systems     
• Able to give financial knowledge to non-financial managers
• Need to be personable, inquisitive and be able to challenge the status quo
