The Roof Gardens were originally created in the Art Deco period and opened in 1933. In the late 60’s the building was taken over by fashion powerhouse Biba and was the pulse of Swinging London. 100 ft high above Kensington High Street, set across 3 floors with over an acre of gardens, The Roof Gardens will be a next generation members club that is future-facing, committed to innovation and community, to discovery and to delight. The club will open in Spring/Summer 2024 as a world-leading members’ club affording its community beautiful gardens, bars, restaurants and events spaces alongside a visionary cultural and music programme.

*The Role*

We are looking for a confident Head Cocktail Waiter/Waitress to join our team. As a member of our front-of-house service team, you will be helping deliver a world class service alongside a highly trained, charismatic team whose collective goal is to deliver service excellence to our members. With your passion for spirits, cocktails and quality wines (and good food!) you will become a familiar and friendly face for our members, and make their experience of our bar spaces positive from start to finish.

You will be proud to uphold the club’s service standards and help build the reputation of The Roof Gardens. We seek somebody with solid experience in a similar role and in high-end bars/food and beverage service environments, an impeccable demeanour, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. You will be a confident communicator, exceptional team player and be conscientious in the execution of your duties.

*Key Responsibilities: *

Operations & Service: Welcome guests warmly and create a positive first impression, taking orders and processing payments through POS system, serving food and drinks, and assisting guests with various needs. Supervise, train, and develop your team, ensuring they understand their roles and menu knowledge. Maintain high personal standards and behaviour throughout your shift upholding team standards and culture. Foster teamwork and contribute to club operations, maintaining a hands-on approach during shifts is crucial for ensuring efficient and profitable operations.

Compliance, Health & Safety: Maintain a clean and organised lounge area. Ensure adherence to health & safety, hygiene, and licensing regulations to maintain safe working conditions for all the team. 

*Skills & Requirements*

* Experience working as in a similar role in a private members club, luxury or high end F&B environment

* Passion for food and beverage, including cocktails and wine

* A commitment to always providing excellent customer care and intuitive service

* Reliable team member, open to training and challenges

* A great memory for names and faces 

* Excellent communicator with a good command of spoken and written English

* A friendly characterful demeanour and take genuine pleasure in supporting your colleagues

* Enthusiasm and lots of energy coupled with the ability to remain composed under pressure

* Familiarity with POS systems beneficial 

* Willingness to work flexible hours including nights and weekends
