We have an exciting opportunity for 2 General Practitioners to join our Primary Care team at HMP Belmarsh. HMP Belmarsh is a category A Prison located in South East London, close to Plumstead and Woolwich Arsenal stations. The prison houses around 675 patients with a variety of needs include complex physical and mental health. Within this role you will be working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team including 2 other permanent 2 GP’s providing excellent clinical care and treatment. Ideal applicants will have previous experience within a secure setting or with substance misuse prescribing.
Hours
Monday to Friday 9am-5pm or 9am-10pm
Saturday 9am-2pm
We can offer either full time or part time hours
Salary
This role has a salary of up to £132,297 FTE per annum depending on experience

Our General Practitioners are extremely valued and are well respected members of the Prison Healthcare community, as a General Practitioner, your responsibilities will vary. You will
Deliver first class healthcare to a diverse group of patients, and therefore as a General Practitioner at Practice Plus Group you get the opportunity to further develop your knowledge in areas you wouldn’t usually experience within a practice, or even A&E environment.
Provide clinical assessment and diagnosis to patient’s requirements and make timely decisions regarding future management.
Provide a highly specialist resource to other members of the healthcare team at site, as well as the patients you work with having active
involvement in clinical governance and effectiveness activities.

Qualifications required
MBChB or MBBS
Inclusion on the GMC Register and GP Performers List
Evidence of engagement with annual appraisal
Experience working as a General Practitioner in community general practice
Evidence of continuing professional development
Ability to work with patients with a history of substance misuse
RCGP Certificate in Substance Misuse 1 and 2, or prepared to undertake these qualifications
